3 Things To Remember When Problems Persist (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 226)

3 Things To Remember When Problems Persist

“Life always gives us another chance: It’s called ‘to move on.’”
— Ana Claudia Antunes

Not long ago, I was sitting in a hospital bed tied to a machine that was transmitting blood into my body, waiting for test results to return, and being prepped for emergency surgery to remove tumors that up until that point I didn’t know I had. I had no serious health problems until that point. But I felt strangely aware of the reality of my existence and how blessed I was to be alive. Over the course of several days, as I was being wheeled from floor to floor myself, I watched other patients being wheeled and beds being rolled. None of these patients expected to go through whatever they were dealing with. But here we all were with something in common: experiencing the fragility and beauty of life at the same time. Believing Is Seeing (without Sight) (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 177)

Believing Is Seeing (without Sight)

“I knew that if I failed I wouldn’t regret that, but I knew the one thing I might regret is not trying.”
— Jeff Bezos

Success in achieving our goals ultimately depends on having a mindset that is prematurely steeped in victory. This means that you already have the view that you are going to win before you actually get there. All of this is based on choice and developing good habits which project a positive mental attitude and outlook upon every aspect of your life.  Read more…

Broken Crowns (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 175)

Broken Crowns

Luke 15:10 (NLT)
In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.

The value God places on each human life cannot be compared to anything else. Many times people want to know how much they matter to other people. But what really matters is how valued we are by God. In Scripture, a lost sheep, lost money, and a lost son were diligently searched for until they were found. This is how much God cares for us. Read more…

We Laugh and Cry Together (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 138)

We Laugh and Cry Together

Romans 12:15 (NLT)
Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.

In the big body of believers, there is a universal understanding that at certain times, we are to feel what others feel with them. When happiness is expressed, we are to rejoice with the one who is happy. When sadness is the emotion, we are to be solemn with the one experiencing sadness. God is the same way. When we are happy, He is glad. When we are heartbroken, His own heart is broken as well.  Read more…

Just Go For It (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 83)

Just Go For It

“The only man who never makes mistakes is the man who never does anything.”
— Theodore Roosevelt

We waste so much time playing little games with ourselves. We think and then we overthink. We do and then we over-do. We take one step forward and then just stand still trying to figure out our next move. We spend so much energy waiting or worrying that opportunities we really want just pass us by because we’re too pre-occupied with meaningless subjectivity.  Read more…

Three Certainties (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 71)

Three Certainties

1 John 4:4 (NLT)
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

There are few things we can be certain of in this world. We can’t be sure we’ll be alive to see tomorrow or that our loved ones will make it to the new year. We can be definite that accidents won’t happen or massive storm systems will come our way. Certainty of anything tangible is not a promise in the world or in life. Read more…
