Slow Down Long Enough to Trust (365 Days of Daring Faith — DAY 326)

slow-down-long-enough-to-trust

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

Society promotes fast, quick, and easy ways to do nearly anything. We fly in planes because they’re faster than cars. We go to fast food restaurants not because the food is better but because the idea is for it to be quick. We hold on to our devices tighter than our children because almost everything we need is at the click of a button. Most of us buy our food at the store instead of growing it because growing it takes too long. People are always looking for a better, faster, more efficient way to get projects done or to obtain services. Read more…

Stop Waiting for Perfect Timing and Favorable Conditions (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 298)

(30 Things To Stop Spending Time On If You Want to Be Successful #30)

“Do not wait until the conditions are perfect to begin. Beginning makes the conditions perfect.”
— Alan Cohen

Perfect timing does not exist. Completely favorable conditions do not exist. — Buckminster Fuller

Everyone moves; very few make progress. Progress is not achieved by happenstance or osmosis or luck. It takes intentional, willful, purposeful work on your own mind and heart and soul every single day. Most people give up because the journey to achieving the progress they want looks so far away. All progress, however, is based on a deeply innate and universal desire to be and live beyond our comfort zones. If we channel it so, every mistake and every success is progress. Read more…

Quit Looking For Excuses (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 20)

Quit Looking For Excuses

“He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.”
— Benjamin Franklin

There is no such thing as too tired, too hard, too late, too early, too easy, too much, too little or too old — those are just plain old excuses. These are little lies that people tell when they lack the mental fortitude, motivation, or will to do something. You can let the excitement and creativity of the world pass you by, or you can stop hiding from life and start living life.

Perfect Timing

Perfect Timing

“My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him” (Psalm 62:5, NKJV).

We live in a world that wants everything fast. From high speed internet to fast food restaurants, to fast cars and automatic bill pay, it goes without being said that instant gratification is the order of the day. If we’re not careful, we can fall into the trap of wanting things to happen immediately to the neglect of perfect timing. Read more…
