Thinking is good — sometimes. We get into trouble, however, when we think way more than we should. Overthinking does not give us any more power over the things we cannot control nor does it make some of our worst fears go away. In fact, overthinking is largely a test of how much reality we can handle. There is plenty of space in our minds to create a hurricane just to blow out a campfire. But if you’re stressing over things such as happiness or where you’re supposed to be in life, you are more than likely thinking wrong and that wrong thinking is keeping you stuck. There’s a reason why Barbra Streisand sung about our natural human need for “People” in the movie Funny Girl. Research has it that, “People who need people are the luckiest people in the world.”

It has been said before that things don’t start to go wrong until other people start getting involved. There is some truth to that statement. Eliminate Negativity

It is inevitable that negativity exists all around us, but we don’t have to let it affect us. We can be consistently positive and optimistic while at the same time being a realist and practical. I don’t think we can remove every single bit of negativity from our lives, but I do believe that we can remove a large chunk of it. Eliminating negativity has nothing to do with actively trying to be more positive, but it has everything to do with intentionally removing things and people that suck the energy out of your life and waste your time.  Read more…
