It should go without being said that all people matter in our society. No matter one’s race, ethnicity, creed, religion, or socio-economic status, all people are unique and significant. Every person is also entitled to his or her opinion and freedom to express that opinion. Read more…

No Fear, Only Love (365 Days of Spirited Living — DAY 360)

“Love is what we were born with. Fear is what we learned here.”
— Marianne Williamson

There are many things that we can be afraid of. There are also just as many reasons for us to love. Fear will never be completely eradicated on this side of heaven, but there is a chance that we can overwhelm it. Love, pure, unconditional love can put fear on the run.

The events of this life are real. War and terror, sickness and death, inequality and injustice are inevitabilities that we face and will continue to wrestle with. The psychology created by the harshness and brutality of this world makes fear all too real and love seems as unreal as a dream, even non-existent. Read more…

Everyone Runs Not All Win

1 Corinthians 9:24 (NLT)
Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!

The Christian life can be likened to a race with a definite starting point and a definite ending point. One may not run as fast as another, but every single person born into this world has been given a race to run. We could say that we have been placed in a certain lane with a certain number and it is our responsibility to run in that lane with determination, perseverance, and strength. Getting to where God wants us to be is a long, slow process of learning, growing, and ultimately becoming more like Him.  Read more…

Running to Obtain

Running to Obtain

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain” (1 Corinthians 9:24).

Our goal in this race is to win, but we can only win if we keep our eyes on the prize which is Jesus Christ. He ran the perfect race, He won the perfect prize, and He can show us how to run to win as well.  Read more…
