There’s not enough time for you to learn all things before you start. Life will be over before that happens. Learn what you can. Then start. Keep learning. Keep working. Get as strong as you can. Push yourself out the nest. Start falling. Use those wings you’ve developed. You’ll be ready when you’re ready.

Surf the Waves, Don’t Let the Waves Carry You (365 Days of Spirited Living — DAY 366)

“The only thing a person can ever really do is keep moving forward. Take that big leap forward without hesitation, without once looking back. Simply forget the past and forge toward the future.”
— Alyson Noel

In many respects, it is the habits we form that make us or break us. Success or failure fully depends on what we choose to do or not do in order to move forward. Success is subjectively determined, but it is not a matter of following a formula or heeding to a set routine.

The choices we make determine what kind of life we live. You can be a surfer and ride the waves on your own volition and take yourself where you want to go. Or you can let the waves carry you wherever they want and that’s usually going to be somewhere you wouldn’t go yourself. Read more…

Sometimes To Make Progress, You Have To Go Back (365 Days of Spirited Living — DAY 359)

“Failure is instructive. The person who really thinks learns quite as much from his failures as from his successes.”
— John Dewey

When each year begins to wind down, most of us make special efforts to make plans for the future. We create resolutions. Put up new calendars in our office or home. Begin a new journal or planner. Write out our long term goals and chart a path to get there. Answer the question, “Where do you see yourself at the end of the year?” is a tool that allows us to gain clarification. Read more…

9 Ways to Eradicate Self Doubt (365 Days of Spirited Living — DAY 342)

9-ways-to-eradicate-self-doubt

“We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be obtained.”
— Marie Curie

At one point or another in all of our lives, no matter who you are or what your background is, we all experience self-doubt. You will have moments when your confidence son the rocks or has completely fallen apart and you don’t know if you should or even if you can take the next step. Self-doubt is one of the chiefest adversaries against progress and success. It happens in every environment, in personal and professional lives, in little league and the pros. Read more…

One Day It All Will Click (365 Days of Spirited Living — DAY 341)

“A bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn.”
— Unknown

So many things are vying for our attention in this world. In every direction we turn, there is someone or something calling us, pulling us, or pushing us. At every point in life, there is a new article or book, lesson or teacher wanting us to pay attention to them, telling us that this is important or this is necessary. If we are not careful, we can spend much of our lives allowing ourselves to be taken into so many different directions that pretty soon we won’t know where we are or who we are at all. Read more…
