At Rock Bottom? Remember 3 More Things (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 266)

“It is not in the still calm of life, or the repose of a pacific station, that great characters are formed. The habits of a vigorous mind are formed in contending with difficulties.”
— Abigail Adams

The mountains are there not to strike fear in our hearts. They’re there for an entirely different reason. The mountains are tests to challenge us. They are invisible and visible forces that pull us and push us to either move forward or stay stuck. The mountains in our lives desire to be climbed. They are the chance we’ve always wanted to prove how strong we can be and how seriously and desperately we want something. Overcoming challenges takes both faith and courage. And those who dare to have both are rarely disappointed. Read more…

3 Simple Things To Remember When Problems Persist (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 230)

3 Simple Things To Remember When Problems Persist

“The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it.”
— Moliere

“If it ain’t one thing, it’s another.” We all have those days, perhaps even entire weeks and months, when it seems as though problems face us at every corner they can find. At work. At school. At home. At church. They threaten to pull us by the nape of our necks into a spiral of one thing after another. When everything seems to be going wrong, we may be caught off guard. These times can blindside us and cause us to neglect to realize the many things that are going so well in our lives. It might not be easy or a happy occasion when problems persist in our lives, but there are better ways to get through these times than whining and complaining about them. Read more…

Stronger Than Human Strength (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 115)

Stronger Than Human Strength

1 Corinthians 1:25 (NLT)
…God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

In life, there will always be hangups and holdups. We will face circumstances that aim to keep us separated from reaching our goals or prevent us from making progress. Mistakes and failure are common experiences for all mankind. We will find ourselves in situations that are difficult and out of our control to handle. These encounters in life are when our human weaknesses hit us as reality.  Read more…

But Take Heart (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 91)

But Take Heart

John 16:33 (NLT)
Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Throughout the world today, there are many people who live in fear. They feel guilty about the past, worried about the present, and are afraid of the future. This spirit of fear keeps them bound and acts as a deterrent and excuse for them to not live the life God has designed for them.  Read more…

These Two Things Are Certain

These Two Things Are Certain

John 16:33 (NLT)
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

This year of 2015 had its fair share of trials and sorrows, tribulation and suffering. Not a day went by in which we were free of hearing about wars and terror attacks, about someone somewhere in this world dying, about people who made a difference and others who took it for granted, about little innocent children being robbed of a chance to live.  Read more…
