One Day It All Will Click (365 Days of Spirited Living — DAY 341)

“A bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn.”
— Unknown

So many things are vying for our attention in this world. In every direction we turn, there is someone or something calling us, pulling us, or pushing us. At every point in life, there is a new article or book, lesson or teacher wanting us to pay attention to them, telling us that this is important or this is necessary. If we are not careful, we can spend much of our lives allowing ourselves to be taken into so many different directions that pretty soon we won’t know where we are or who we are at all. Read more…

Clarity Is Almost Never Clear (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 261)

clarity-is-almost-never-clear

“Clarity doesn’t always mean you know exactly what you’re doing…It does mean you know exactly who you’re being and why.”
— Christine Kane

No matter how many times you venture out to do something new, there is going to be the risky and scary proposition that it won’t work. In the back of our minds, there is the very nagging and unsettling question, “How do I know?” How do I know the next book I write isn’t going to be a complete flop? How do I know that I am moving in the right direction? How do I know I am dating the right person? How do I know I am doing the best I can at work or in school? Read more…

3 Realistic Signs You’re Moving Forward (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 133)

3 Realistic Signs You’re Moving Forward

“You will never feel truly satisfied by work until you are satisfied by life.”
— Heather Schuck

Every little step you take in the direction of your goals is significant. Progress involves a multiplicity of little things. Parts are what make up the whole. You should focus on the little things but not to the neglect of the bigger picture. And we must keep the big picture in view but not to the point where we can’t see the little things that make up the goal. This is how progress is achieved.  Read more…

3 Viable Signs You’re Moving Forward (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 132)

3 Viable Signs You’re Moving Forward

“When many voices are speaking at once, listen to the one most quiet and gentle. That’s the one worth listening to.”
— Miranda Linda Weisz

Isn’t it strange how people can seem to be successful publicly but falling apart privately? Internal progress is more important than external progress. You need balance. You have to run on two tracks. True progress is doing great work and living a great life. Fulfillment rarely ever comes from material possessions but from a steady flow of forward movement that continues to create action that produces fulfillment.  Read more…

3 Choice Signs You’re Moving Forward (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 129)

3 Choice Signs You’re Moving Forward

“In a moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing to do, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.”
— Theodore Roosevelt

Deliberation can be both a curse and a blessing. To make progress, one must take time to pray, think, and plan. But the time to do that is always limited. The other half of making progress is taking action. Nothing is more common than action not backed by careful thinking and planning. A plan without action is worthless. Action without a plan is a disaster. Read more…

3 Actual Signs You’re Moving Forward (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 128)

3 Actual Signs You’re Moving Forward

“Always strive to be better than who you were yesterday.”
— James Gordon

A sure way to get held up from moving forward is to have no clear view of the end goal. If your vision is fuzzy, unmeasurable, and unspecific, it will be unattainable. If you have a mediocre view of what you intend to do, the results you hope to gain will be mediocre as well. To move forward, you must be clear on what you want, clarify how you will get there, and execute, execute, execute each step of the way. Find your why, determine what you want the results to be, and get motivated to move forward.  Read more…

3 Real Signs You’re Moving Forward (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 127)

3 Real Signs You’re Moving Forward

“When you find yourself in the thickness of pursuing a goal or dream, stop only to rest. Momentum builds success.”
— Suzy Kassem

In every thing we do, we must have a reason behind it. Without a reason, things will just not happen. Where there is no reason, you will find a way to avoid moving forward. If your reason is weak, you will find a way to edge out of what you know you should do. Progress always lies on the other side of every reason you feel you shouldn’t do something. Make sure your reason for doing something or not doing something isn’t weak. To make progress, make sure you have a strong reason behind why you do what you do.  Read more…

3 Complete Signs You’re Moving Forward (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 126)

3 Complete Signs You’re Moving Forward

“If you don’t live a life in service of a greater good, you’ve gotta at least die a death in service of a greater good, you know?”
— John Green

Like air, water, and food, growth is a fundamental human need. We consider something to be developmentally wrong when a young child is not progressing physically at certain stages. Likewise, there can be a stunting of growth when no real progress is being made over a significant period of time. Progress is growth. Growth is progress. The two go together. One cannot exist without the other. If you are moving forward, it means you are seeing real results and are taking action steps toward your goals.  Read more…
