Rightness and Justice

God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.

God’s character and heart are set at the temperature of righteousness and justice. When righteousness and justice are lacking, tyranny and chaos are the result. A striving towards doing what is right, fair, and equitable begins with a hunger and thirst for those things. Someone once said that coming to God after you’ve cleaned up your life is like going to the emergency room after you stop bleeding. It’s like cleaning up your house and then calling a maid service. We often do these things because we want to feel as though we have done something. We like to think we have put some work in in order to gain certain results. But this is not how God operates. Burdened, Tired, and Weary (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 62)

Burdened Tired and Weary

Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

We don’t have to look far to see that much of the world is burdened with cares too big for them to bear, tired from the everyday rat race and hustle, and weary from trying to do too much on its own. Ask the average person how they are doing, and the common answer you will hear is busy. They’re busy to the point of extreme fatigue, unable to carry on.
