28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!”

29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.

30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

Easter Truth – DAY THIRTY-EIGHT:

Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday, holds the complete satisfaction of God, the fulfillment of Jesus Christ, and the grace poured out for the entire world in a crucible called Calvary. The bloodied, battered, heartbroken, burdened Jesus slowly trudges up the hill, bearing a cross and the sins of the entire world on His back. If God had decided to end everything with Good Friday, then we would be men and women most miserable, living a life of ultimate despair and meaninglessness, headed straightway to an end with no hope. Jesus’ death was both the worst and the best. He died so that we may live. He bled so that we may be clean. He was made sin so we could be made righteous. Good Friday was a bad day for Jesus, but it was a good day for all for us. Read more…

10 Reasons Why Good Friday Is So Good

1. Good Friday is so good because it teaches us how to love. Love is one of the greatest forces in the world. Nothing is made more evident and more real to us than Jesus death on the cross. Jesus showed His love, He prove His love, not just with words, but with actions. By Jesus’ example of unconditional love for us, He indirectly showed us how to love one another.
