Gratefulness is like a multitude of pathways connecting you to every good thing you could want or imagine.
LIVE. PRAY. HUSTLE.
2 Corinthians 4:18 (NLT)
So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
We can’t see ideas but we know that they exist because we develop them in our minds and result in all the things we see in the world. We can’t see the blood vessels that run throughout our body or our bones and muscles but we know that they are there, otherwise we would not be alive. We can’t see our heart, but every breath we take reminds us that it is beating. We can’t see God but we know that he exists by faith. We imagine that he is in Heaven and he cares for us and loves us. “Fears are stories we tell ourselves.”
— Cheryl Strayed
Imagine what you could accomplish if there was never such a thing as fear? Fear can be crippling. It can imprison us to our own thoughts and feelings and prevent us from taking action. It renders us ineffective when it comes to making decisions and causes us to stay stagnant simply because we do not know anything about the unknown. Read more…
“Creativity is contagious. Pass it on.”
— Albert Einstein
“The mind is a terrible thing to waste” is so much more than a popular statement. What we do with our minds and allow into our minds has the ability to develop us into better people or degrade us into something worse. Being creative causes us to use our minds in ways that actually bring usefulness and happiness into our lives and into the lives of other people. When we don’t know what to do, creativity kicks in and makes us spin stories, create music, and develop solutions that never were until now. Read more…
“Daring ideas are like chessmen moved forward; they may be beaten, but they may start a winning game.”
Creativity is a veiled mystery. It is definitive in some personality types, but it can also be fluid in others. Ideas and insights flow from almost nowhere and at other times fail to even let us know where to begin especially when we need them. Creative people seem to be complex but are actually far more simple than we realize — just in their own way. To have the ability to create anything is both a huge privilege and an even greater responsibility. Read more…
“If a man coaches himself, then he has only himself to blame when he is beaten.”
— Roger Bannister
For hundreds of years, experts said that the human body did not possess the capability to run a 4-minute mile. In fact, for over a thousand years, people had tried to reach this goal. And in the 1940s, the mile record was set at four minutes and one second. Since the experts had said it, people just believed the idea that this was a feat that was impossible for the human body to accomplish. Read more…
“Progress lies not in enhancing what is, but in advancing toward what will be.”
— Khalil Gibran
We can’t always see where we are going, but that doesn’t stop us from taking the journey to get there. Creating a vision begins with envisioning where you want to be from where you are now and doing the hard work to get there. If you can see the end goal in your mind and you can stay focused on it, you are more likely to reach it. Read more…
“Our dream, the desire that is in our soul, did not come out of nowhere. Someone placed it there. And that Someone, who is pure love and wants only our happiness, did so only because he also gave us the tools to realise our dreams and our desires.”
— Paulo Coelho
We are all capable of doing so much, yet very often, we end up doing so little. There is no guarantee that we will succeed at anything. There is a guarantee that we never have a chance of succeeding if we do not try. We are able to dream not for the sake of dreaming. We are able to dream because possibility lies beyond our dreams. We dream not because we need something but because we already have everything we need.
