Fools are so exhausted by a little work that they can’t even find their way home.

Little girls like to play Cinderella or Snow White. Little boys like to play cops and robbers or warriors and Indians. Teenagers idolize their favorite celebrities and dress up like their personal heroes. This copying behavior continues throughout adulthood. Adults attempt to play God. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

God can do anything He desires to do in the world. He really doesn’t need us to accomplish His will in the earth. But He chooses to work alongside humans; He selected us to be His co-laborers. It takes both God and us to produce the good things that God ultimately wants to see done in the world and in our lives. It takes more than one, it takes two — God and people together. Read more…
