We are required to love ourselves. We are commanded to love others. But no one is required to love us back. Because when we love, it should not be an obligation. When it becomes that, it ceases to carry meaning, show acceptance, and bear light. The fire and feeling that we call love is incomprehensible to our minds but perfect for our hearts and souls.

I went to a three-hour business meeting recently and I learned quite a bit of things I didn’t previously know. Of course, I will not bore you with the details because it probably wouldn’t interest you anyway. After three hours of talking about profit and loss, cashflow, margin, taxes, and legal stuff, the speaker ended with a joke (of sorts). Read more…

A Bubble of Peace

There is so much turmoil around us in the world, and for some of us, turmoil exists in our own worlds at home and school so much so that it is hard to find a reflection of peace. Peace can be hard to come by when much of the world goes hungry each night. Peace can be hard to think about when people are living in war zones or living in fear of being killed, persecuted, abducted, imprisoned or harmed in some other way.
