Letting Jesus In (365 Days of Daring Faith — DAY 359)

letting-jesus-in

Luke 2:7 (NLT)
She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.

What do we make room for in our lives? Our spouses. Our children. Our significant others. Our pets. Our work. Our hobbies. Our daily agendas. Our faith doesn’t always make the list. Sometimes, we tend to put faith on a back burner while pursuing what we deem as more important. Other times, faith just gets pushed to the back burner because we allow so many other things to crowd our line of vision, hearing, and feeling. Just imagine how we would feel if a family member or friend told us that they didn’t have space for us at the dinner table. Read more…

Words with Consequences (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 197)

Words with Consequences

Proverbs 18:21 (NLT)
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

What we say has a huge impact in our lives and in the people around us. Many people don’t consider the power that their words hold until after major damage has been done. Our words have consequences and those consequences can be good or bad depending on how we choose to use our words. The choices we make, the risks we take are all a direction result of the words that proceed from our hearts and minds.  Read more…

Contamination (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 192)

Contamination

Matthew 5:8 (NLT)
God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.

We live in a world that is contaminated. War, terror, abuse, violence, and evil human intentions are some of the results of corruption that exists in the world. These and other things cause us to live in fear of the unknown and guilt of the past. Contamination in the world begins with pollution in each individual mind and life. When pollution takes effect, it has the power to spread rapidly to larger portions of society. Read more…

Trust and Follow (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 126)

Trust and Follow

Proverbs 3:5 (NLT)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

In this verse, God is telling us to trust Him with everything we have in everything we do. How easy it is to trust, but how little so many of us do it? The two things God wants more than anything is for us to trust Him with everything and follow Him in everything. Read more…

Stop Making Excuses (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 103)

Stop Making Excuses

(30 Things To Stop Spending Time On If You Want to Be Successful #12)

“BLA BLA BLA. This is what I hear when you tell me you can’t do something.”
— Unknown

Excuses. We all know about them. They are friends of convenience and nemeses of success. More than likely, we’ve made one or two in our lives. We can always find a reason why something can’t be done, why we won’t take action, or how something is not possible. Our reasons seem reasonable to us. We have incredible power to justify our actions and thoughts — to ourselves at least.  Read more…

Worthy Investments (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 95)

Worthy Investments

Luke 12:34 (NLT)
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

What do you spend your time on most? If you can answer that question, you will see where your heart is most of the time. We like to think that what we do in this life only impacts us. But it is deeper than that. What you do on earth now will influence you and others around you for all of eternity.

Heavenly Minded (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 90)

Heavenly Minded

Colossians 3:2 (NLT)
Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

What do you think about on a daily basis? What do you choose to focus on? Are you more interested in temporary material possessions or eternal treasures? Our thoughts proceed out of our hearts. Wherever our hearts are, there will our minds be also. A mind that is set on Heaven is the start for a Heaven-centered life. Read more…
