Those Are Your Thoughts and Plans, Not Mine (365 Days of Daring Faith — DAY 346)

Isaiah 55:8 (NLT)
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”

God is loving, kindhearted, merciful, gracious, long-suffering, and everlasting. God comforts those who are grieving, heals those who are sick, and answers those who pray. God promises that if you knock, the door will be opened; if you look for something, you will find it; and if you ask, you will receive. Some think about the miracles he worked; others think about the strength he personally gives. Read more…

Without this type of fear, we couldn’t protect ourselves from legitimate dangers and threats. But the other type of fear is the kind that holds us back from reaching our goals. It causes us to avoid opportunities that are good for us and avoid situations in which we feel people will think ill of us. Overcoming fear is a skill anyone can learn. Read more…

Upside Down (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 74)

Upside Down

Galatians 1:10 (NLT)
Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

If we would be honest with ourselves, we’ll admit that at some point and time, our lives were upside down. Maybe it was while running or maybe it was during a tough day at work. But we don’t stay upside down all the time. If we did, we would eventually die. And we would die because we were not created to live upside down.  Read more…
