3 More Dangerous Habits to Dump Now (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 279)

3-more-dangerous-habits-to-dump-now

“A change in bad habits leads to a change in life.”
— Unknown

I wish I could change my bad habits in one single day. However, habits that have been developed over time must also change over time. I don’t advocate quick fixes. They rarely work. I do however advocate making definite and immediate choices that will produce changes in habit over the long term. Read more…

6 Things to Seriously Stop Expecting from Yourself (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 244)

6 Things to Seriously Stop Expecting from Yourself

“Expectation feeds frustration. It is an unhealthy attachment to people, things, and outcomes we wish we could control, but don’t.”
— Steve Maraboli

We all hold to the belief that we must achieve something great in life. We should. Life would be worthless if we sat around doing nothing at all to make a difference in the place we have been blessed to occupy. But sometimes in our attempt to achieve, we place too many expectations on ourselves and fail in our pursuit. We allow our expectations to set us up for disappointment. Most of these expectations are self-imposed thus leaving us with the choice to carry them as weights or release ourselves from their chains. Imagination can be a dangerous thing. When we stop imagining ourselves to be who we are not, we make room to learn, grow, and achieve. Read more…

3 Complete Signs You’re Doing Just Fine

“Difficulty on the way to victory is opportunity for God to work.”
— Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

There is always a bit of fear, or at least trepidation, before we launch off into something big. You can be scared but you don’t have to stay scared. Don’t let fear paralyze you from reaching your goals.  Read more…

3 Realistic Signs You’re Moving Forward (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 133)

3 Realistic Signs You’re Moving Forward

“You will never feel truly satisfied by work until you are satisfied by life.”
— Heather Schuck

Every little step you take in the direction of your goals is significant. Progress involves a multiplicity of little things. Parts are what make up the whole. You should focus on the little things but not to the neglect of the bigger picture. And we must keep the big picture in view but not to the point where we can’t see the little things that make up the goal. This is how progress is achieved.  Read more…

3 Extra Signs You’re Moving Forward (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 111)

3 Extra Signs You’re Moving Forward

“Even if you fall on your face, you’re still moving forward.”
— Victor Kiam

Everyone needs a pencil and eraser in life. I’m not really talking about literally, of course, but I do mean figuratively. A lot of life is about making decisions. Making those decisions determine how far we go in life. Sometimes are decisions are good and other times they are not so good. When we mess up or totally blow it, we need that eraser to correct it in some way. When we take the stuff out of our lives that is hindering us from reaching our full potential, we open the doors of time, space, energy, vision, and meaning to do what we were really made to do. When we focus in on making good decisions, we are beginning to move forward in life.

3 More Signs You’re Moving Forward

“Waiting for perfect is never as smart as making progress.”
— Seth Godin

A lot of times, we don’t make progress because we don’t feel the circumstances are perfect enough. Perfect circumstances, timing, people, or perfect anything should be the least of worries when we are trying to move forward. Everything, it seems, will be far from perfect. It may even feel like a struggle. It may feel slow and irritating. But you need to realize that struggle always precedes progress. And slow progress is a million dollars better than no progress at all.

Here are three more signs you’re moving forward in life even if you don’t feel it:  Read more…
