We all have to work. Nothing happens without it. But work is extremely more enjoyable and meaningful when it is directed toward a goal. Work for the sake of work is usually unfulfilling. It is only a means to pass time and make money. Work that results in achievement demands that we put that much more effort into it. When we’re excited about where we’re going, we are more likely to do whatever it takes to get there.

In September of 2009, a video titled “Incredible, amazing, awesome Apple” took over the internet. Basically, it was posted to draw attention to Apple’s consistent use of superlatives. Hence the emphasis on “incredible, amazing, awesome”. And even today, Apple leaders and Apple lovers use these types of words to describe their products. Critics of Apple will say it is a tool by which millions of people are tricked into buying Apple products. Whether it is or it isn’t, the fact remains that it works. Read more…

And it is there even when we think it is gone. In order to reach your long-term goals, you need long haul enthusiasm. That intense excitement about progress is what gives goals wings and sets our souls on fire to keep climbing despite the struggle.

We can’t always see where we are going, but that doesn’t stop us from taking the journey to get there. Creating a vision begins with envisioning where you want to be from where you are now and doing the hard work to get there.
