John 1:10-11 (NLT)
He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.

If this were a world of pure goodness, we probably would need the expectation of going to heaven. If this were a world of light, it would be fairly easy to recognize the truth of Jesus amidst the fiction. But this is a world that is neither good or filled with light. And we have contributed to that condition. This is a world wrought with evil and darkness into which Jesus came to be the true light. Read more…

God Has Secrets Too

Deuteronomy 29:29 (NLT)
The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.

God reserves the right to tell the world some things and to keep some things hidden. Sometimes we do not know why suffering or evil has to exist in the world. Other times we do not know why we have to experience sadness and pain. But the truths in Scripture allow us to trust God with confidence and certainty even in difficult times. Read more…
