(30 Things To Stop Spending Time On If You Want to Be Successful #19)

“Don’t envy the lives of others. Often you only see the surface. If you delve deeper, everyone faces challenges. Each one; without exception.”
— Mufti Menk

If there is one thing that is true about our social media saturated culture it is that we envy the perceived success of other people. We may never outright admit that this is the case, but underneath all of our favorites and retweets and shares, there is a brewing storm of envy that exists deep within all of us. Read more…

No One Else Is Living Your Dream (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 216)

No One Else Is Living Your Dream

“One of the sanest, surest, and most generous joys of life comes from being happy over the good fortune of others.”
— Archibald Rutledge

We’ve been taught that envy and jealousy are destructive attitudes to have. The truth is, they really are. It Is All A Gift

1 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT)
What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?

Everything you and I have is a gift from God. This is why He doesn’t want us to compete with other people or compare what we have to what someone else has. When we envy other people, we tell God how unhappy we are with His will for our lives. Instead of wishing for what someone else has, we need to remind ourselves that God has given us everything we need in life. Read more…

3 More Ways to Know It’s Time for a Change

“She believed she could, so she did.”
— R.S. Grey

To really live takes a level of commitment. You can’t live by chance or accidentally. Rather than complain, blame others, or make excuses, be responsible for knowing when you need to make changes. Here are three more signs: Read more…

When God Is With You (Fearless Living #4)

Genesis 26:24, NIV
That night the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham.”

The Philistines envied Isaac and his wealth and prosperity. Before then, they had a love/hate relationship with Isaac’s father, Abraham. Isaac was the son God had promised to Abraham, and thus God’s blessings were passed down from Abraham to Isaac. It was nothing that Isaac did to incur God’s blessings in his life. But because his father was obedient and faithful, God blessed him. Read more…
