Just Thinking (365 Days of Daring Faith — DAY 338)

just-thinking

Philippians 4:8 (NLT)
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

In life, we are always involved in a battle. Sometimes, it is a physical one — a real war between good people and bad people. “Five percent of the people think; ten percent of the people think they think; and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think.”
— Thomas Edison

Some would argue that there are other factors involved like culture and environment, and they’re probably right. But life is ultimately like a cause and effect. Your behavior is the cause that produces either a negative or positive effect. Read more…

How the Mind Plays Tricks on Reality (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 264)

“We know what we are but not what we may be.”
— Ophelia in Hamlet

Your mind is the greatest asset you have. Yet, very few people actually spend time thinking about the way they think. Reality, however, is uniquely shaped by our thoughts — thoughts about ourselves, other people, and the world around us. If you develop cognitive processes that perpetuate inaccurate interpretations about yourself and your abilities, you’ll likely limit your accomplishments. Read more…
