Choosing Gratitude In ALL Things (365 Days of Daring Faith — DAY 329)

choosing-gratitude-in-all-things

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT)
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

If we would be honest, sometimes it is extremely hard to obey the “all” in that verse. Scripture tells us to “be thankful in all circumstances”. Most of us can express gratitude for many things. Those are mostly the things that are going well in our lives and the family members who are not sick and the long-awaited job promotion and the love you’re about to marry, and the sense of security that comes when everything is going according to plan. It is so easy to give thanks then. Read more…

Clothed in Something Beautiful (365 Days of Daring Faith — DAY 320)

Colossians 3:12 (NLT)
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

There are many opportunities throughout our lives in which we can develop patience and allow mercy, kindness, humility, and gentleness to be reflected in our attitudes and actions. One of those opportunities is no more evident than during the holiday season. For many people, it all seems like a blur with the shopping and traveling, gift-giving and cooking. Read more…

Get a Grip on Life (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 57)

Get a Grip on Life

“The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it.”
— Molière

Or, we can choose to learn the lessons we need to learn and actively, intentionally improve our lives.  Read more…

Overflowing Joy (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 13)

Overflowing Joy

John 15:11 (NLT)
I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!

What do you think about when you think about God’s joy? It is overflowing, even overwhelming. It can’t be decreased or jaded by any circumstance. God’s joy is incomprehensible and unmeasurable. Nothing gets Him down or puts Him in a bad mood — not even bad weather or traffic jams.

Dealing With Frustration

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” -Isaiah 41:10

Everyone gets frustrated from time to time. Accidents, incidents, unexpected events, and other things happen that cause us to get frustrated. Not only can circumstances be frustrating, but people can be frustrating as well. Disagreements, misunderstandings, and differences come out from time to time in almost every relationship.
