In January 2014, the Islamic State (also known as ISIS and ISIL) started taking control of Iraq, capturing and killing those who did not agree with them and forcing thousands of families to flee their homes. Much of the world watched in horror as ISIS militants carried out multiple beheadings and engaged in other unspeakable atrocities. The continuous violence resulted in hundreds of thousands of Christians, Yazidis and other religious minorities from Iraq and Syria being displaced and becoming refugees in foreign countries. Enjoy the Wait

Patience is a fruit of the Spirit that God wants to develop in each of our lives. It can be hard to develop patience especially when we live in a time where fast is the order of the day. I normally do not write about things like this. I am no theologian or scholar and I am sure there are some people who can give a deeper answer to this question. In light of the suicide of megachurch pastor, Rick Warren’s son last week, many people seem to be concerned about whether Christians who commit suicide go to Heaven.

Living the Resurrection Every Day

Yesterday was Easter Sunday. It was a day of joy and celebration because Jesus Christ rose from the dead by the power of God. I can only imagine what this world would be like, or even what my life would be like, if Jesus Christ never rose from the dead. There would be no hope in a world that is desperately in need of it.
