When Some People Need to Exit (365 Days of Daring Faith — DAY 318)

2 Corinthians 6:17 (NLT)
Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.

One of the most difficult things for most of us to do is to let go of something that has become familiar and comfortable but is no longer serving a useful or beneficial purpose. It’s kind of like an old pair of shoes that have holes in the bottom. You love them because your feet have grown so comfortable in them, but they are no longer serving the purpose for which they were made. Read more…

Pray. Believe. Ask. Receive. (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 137)

Pray. Believe. Ask. Receive.

Mark 11:24 (NLT)
I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.

When we pray and ask God for something, we exercise our faith that what we ask for can and will come to pass. This verse is one that I hold on to as both a promise and a command. Discouragement can be difficult to break out of. But this verse offers a very realistic reminder in two ways. Read more…

It Depends on Who You Trust (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 108)

It Depends on Who You Trust

Luke 18:27 (NLT)
What is impossible for people is possible with God.

Are you trying to reach a goal or accomplish a task and find it difficult to get past the first step? Or are you getting frustrated because you’re trying to change someone or change a situation and it’s just not working? Sure, you have a good heart and you have even better intentions, but if you’re trying to push things to happen on your time, you will get frustrated.  Read more…

Hope on the Other End (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 66)

Hope on the Other End

Romans 10:13 (NLT)
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

If you were drowning, what is the one thing you would be looking for most? You want someone to have the power to rescue you. When you are sick, what do you want to hear about your condition? You want to hear how you can get well. In simple terms, you want hope. Hope is that anticipation that something good will be the case. Read more…
