PULL THROUGH (Live. Pray. Hustle. 03/26/17)
There are times in all of our lives when we will feel as though we won’t make it through. The upcoming major test. The impending divorce. The two weeks notice on your house. The pink slip on your desk. The red tag on your door. The cancer diagnosis. Each of these moments fills us with anxiety, frustration, and even anger. That’s it’s all not happening like we think it should. That it’s been a waste of time. That it’s unfair.
These feelings and thoughts are totally valid. We’re human and it’s normal to feel some kind of way when the roof is about to cave and you’re one step away from falling over into the deep. “These are the times that try men’s souls,” Thomas Paine said. Our immediate problem always seems bigger than the last problem we encountered. But while all this is going on, you have to remember that you’ve experienced things before and as difficult as it looked then, you got through it. It made you pray. It increased your faith. It made you courageous. It developed strength. You got through and that’s the point — you made it. If you pull through now, you will, in the future, look back on this moment like you look back now on moments gone by and realize the more you live, the more you accept, the more you embrace, the stronger you get, the more faith you have, the braver you become.
