Struck by God’s Amazingness (365 Days of Daring Faith — DAY 311)
Acts 17:24 (NLT)
He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples,
When people meet their favorite celebrity or athlete, they get a little star struck and surprised. Even if they knew they would meet them all along, they kind of stand in awe of their new reality. This event that is happening in their lives leaves an indelible mark on their psyche and for some, even changes their lives.
God is a lot like this for the believer. He made everything in the world and all people in it and we can stand in awe of his majesty, goodness, and grace. His amazingness is unfathomable. Yet, he is very close to us, so close that he desires us to fellowship with him and to be our friend. There is no one word that can describe God’s infinite greatness.
Each day is a testament to his goodness toward us. Since he is God, he doesn’t live only in churches or in sacred buildings, but he chooses to live in the hearts of men and women who allow him in. He is so much bigger than the world, yet he brings himself to our level so we can talk to him and him to us.
Wherever you are in the world, whatever you have been through or are going through, know that God is far bigger than you imagine him to be. He loves you so much that he sent his Son to die in your place on the cross. He loves you enough to know the number of hairs on your head. He loves you in spite of your past and your present and his happy about your future.
Yes, “He is the God who made the world and everything in it.” And he deserves our thanks and appreciation. He holds us in the palm of our hand, knows all things about us, and cares about every detail of our lives. Take a moment to thank him for his amazingness, his goodness, and his grace. And then let it all come in and overwhelm you to the point where you stand in awe of God.
“God is completely sovereign. God is infinite in wisdom. God is perfect in love. God in His love always wills what is best for us. In His wisdom He always knows what is best, and in His sovereignty He has the power to bring it about.”
