Take the Plunge (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 195)
Acts 4:29 (NLT)
And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word.
The chances we choose to take in life are often determined by the people we choose to listen to. In the game of life, we want to aim for the highest goal or dream. And so we place our bets on what is going on at that time, anything that will give us an advantage. We put circumstances in the driver’s seat and we hold our finger to the wind to determine direction.
When we take chances in life, we tend to listen to people to the neglect of God. However, when we take chances that God has told us to take, we need to listen to God Himself above people. Sometimes, people don’t know and will not understand why God is leading you in a certain direction. It is not your job to make them understand; it is your job to follow God.
There is no better voice to listen to in directing us as we take chances and make choices everyday. When you listen to God first and foremost, He will equip you with strength and confidence to take the plunge wherever he leads. Pray for wisdom in not only hearing God’s word, but in being willing to act upon it and take the risks to see what He has in store for you.
“God both develops and, for our good, tests our character by leaving us to decide.”
