Finding What You’re Looking For (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 180)
Jeremiah 29:13 (NLT)
If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
“Let your heart guide you.” People offering this advice don’t understand something about the heart. It is a good place to turn into at times, but it is also deceitful. Following one’s heart has been the source of many hinderances, hangups, and heartbreaks. The heart doesn’t always leads in the right direction.
However, when we intentionally turn our heart to search for God and truth, then we are headed in the right direction. God is open and free. He rejoices when His children search for Him because He is not hiding. He wants to be found. And we can find Him through His Word and through prayer. He is not a God who avoids us or seeks to camouflage who He is.
God desires us and He wants us to desire Him too. Above everything else that you want or hope to gain in this life, seeking and searching for God should be at the very top of the bucket list. Looking for His heart is the greatest treasure one can find. When you seek and search for God’s heart, He promises that you will find what you are looking for.
“Lower your expectations of earth. This isn’t Heaven, so don’t expect it to be.”
