Inner Freedom (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 169)
2 Corinthians 3:17 (NLT)
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Throughout the history of America, men and women have fought, sacrificed, and died for the freedom we enjoy. Nothing is more prized than being unbound by the laws and dictates of other people. While we enjoy many freedoms in our world, there is a greater freedom that we all can enjoy as well.
Our earthly freedoms are a gift from God. But God also wants us to have freedom on the inside, in our souls. Inner freedom is the ultimate freedom. It is so much more meaningful and significant. You can be bound at your hands and at your feet and be sitting in a dark dungeon with no way out. But if you have freedom on the inside, it keeps your hope up and you head above your circumstances.
There is value in embracing and respecting the freedoms and experiences we are able to have in this life. But the greatest freedom one can have is found in Jesus Christ. A relationship with Jesus results in eternal security, peace, hope, and an abundance of freedom that is beyond our imagination.
“Christ’s first priority is setting captives free from the bondage of eternal destruction.”
