Stand in Truth and Extend Grace (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 166)
John 1:14 (NLT)
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
We live in a world of opposing viewpoints and differing opinions. It is inevitable that we will encounter someone, maybe several people, who have a different perspective of the world, God, and the point of our existence. It is the easy, but ignorant way, out of a discussion to belittle their viewpoints in favor of our own.
As believers, God wants us to be sensitive to the world while at the same time holding fast to what we know to be true. We can’t share our faith with the world while bashing them. Instead we must wholly believe and stand for truth and extend them grace. Our faith proves to be meaningful when we believe it no matter who opposes us.
When you meet someone who believes differently or who has a different perspective on the world and spirituality, don’t judge them. Don’t bash them, belittle them, curse them, or tell the how wrong they are. Tell them how loved they are by God. Extend grace to them — the same grace God extends to you. Let God be the invisible and powerful force to open their hearts and minds to receive and believe truth.
“Without a heart transformed by the grace of Christ, we just continue to manage external and internal darkness.”
— Matt Chandler
