What Direction Are You Going? (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 149)
Luke 5:11 (NLT)
And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.
No matter who we are or where we go, two things are certain. One, we will be influenced by others for good or ill. Two, we will have the opportunity to influence others in the same two ways. The direction you choose to go in or you choose to follow someone else in will largely determine the outcome of your life.
Jesus had the kind of influence and authority that commanded people follow Him. When He called His disciples, we find very little questioning or preparation from the disciples’ end. The left what they were doing and much of what they had known behind in order to follow the Master. Jesus led them in the right direction and they chose to follow. And it made all of the positive difference in their lives.
There are people in your life who are watching you. Your actions, words, and attitude will cause them to go in one direction or the other. The question is: What direction are you going? Is it a good direction, one that God would approve of? Make sure you are not the pied piper leading people astray. Ask God for wisdom to lead your life in such a way that it guides people to light, truth, and life.
“You are to follow no man further than he follows Christ.”
