3 Simple Signs You’re Doing Just Fine

“Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”
— Joshua J. Marine

Life isn’t just about living. It’s more about never giving up, overcoming challenges, and rising above obstacles to get to where you want to go. You don’t have to have everything. You do need to possess some things — determination, desire, perspective, and the will to win. When we cease trying to live life, we can really live it. And we have a pretty good time doing so.

Here are 3 signs you’re doing just fine:

1. You believe you can pull through anything. So often people base what is going on in their life now to some incident or traumatic experience in the past. The fact that you are living is all the proof you really need to know that you can get through anything in life. Tell yourself, ‘I made it out then and I will make it out now. Everything is going to be just fine.’ And believe it.

2. You have your own space. If it’s a house, an apartment, or a single-resident dorm room, that’s great. But it doesn’t have to be any of that. If you have your own room, your own desk, your own couch, or your own personal corner where you can do what you want to do, you’re doing well. We can’t control everything, but our space is one of the little things that represent how well we’re doing.

3. You have experienced loss. Loss of any kind — a pet, an important object, and certainly a human being — takes away a part of us that we can never get back. It also gives us a kind of sensitivity to someone else’s pain in that regard. The realization that people don’t live forever and material things can be destroyed helps us learn to appreciate them more.

“When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this: you haven’t.”
— Thomas Edison
