Generous Provisions (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 143)
Psalm 37:25 (NLT)
Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.
David, who himself had his moments of destitution, fear, and begging for daily bread and for his life, testifies of a much higher level of living. Under God, he doesn’t witness a single soul being left in the cold or abandoned. Each generation, the young and the old, and throughout his own life, he sees God provide first-hand and raise up friends to supply needs.
God wants His children to live an abundant and generous life. Doing so begins with learning to trust, exercising faith in the God who is bigger than our wants and needs, and searching out ways to serve and help others. Giving freely to those who have needs that you can meet is the epitome of satisfaction in Christ and delights the heart of God.
God never leaves us wanting anything. All that we could ever want can be found in Him. And as we surrender our lives to His will, He will put us in places and around people to be used as vessels of provision for them. Ask God to help you overcome any fear that your needs will not be met and your wants supplied. Let Him give you grace and courage to be generous and to give to others so that the elderly will not be abandoned and no little child will go without food.
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
