Every story has two sides. A good side and a negative side. The side you hold the mirror to the most will be the one that is most magnified. You’re either doing just fine or not doing well at all — that is all determined by your perception. It’s the side of the story you choose to focus on that will make much of the difference in your life.
Here are 3 signs you’re doing just fine:
1. You manage your professional space. How many people do you know who are great with their kids and love spending time with family but are hard-heads in the office? Managing your professional space is equally as important as managing your personal one. A lot of success is determined by balance. If you are a hard worker, team player, humble leader, and willing servant at work — whatever work you are doing — you are doing well in life.
2. You manage your mental space. If we paid as much attention to our minds as we do to our stomachs, we might get somewhere worthwhile. Our minds are work stations and play pens. What we choose to allow to run rampant there matters. If you deliberately put things in your mind and usher other things out, you are using a power that is second to none. Your mind is your most important asset. When you take time to care for it, you make choices to grow it in healthy ways.
3. You manage your emotional space. Emotions have a major impact in our daily lives. When you’re not falling apart at every iota of dysfunction and breaking down on the inside which eventually manifests itself on the outside, you are doing something right to make sure your emotional well-being is secure. Learning to manage stress and making a conscious effort to respond instead of react to situations is essential for doing well in life.
