Plant Generously (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 141)
2 Corinthians 9:6 (NLT)
Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
You will reap what you sow is a universal law. The reverse is also true. What you do not sow, you will not reap. This goes for every aspect of life. You will make as much money as your work warrants. If your work is weak, your pockets will be as well. If you give generously to others, you will find yourself always having more than enough.
Giving is an opportunity for us to show our appreciation for what we have been given by God. We reflect God’s goodness and mercy to us when we provide for the needs of other people. God has blessed all of us in some way or form not for us to just keep it to ourselves. What good is an abundance of money or any abundance of anything else if we do not use it to create some good in the world? God has blessed us and He wants us to share our blessings with those around us. This is how we bring honor and glory to God.
“For it is in giving that we receive.”
— St. Francis of Assisi
