3 Signs You’re Doing Just Fine (365 Days of Spirited Living – DAY 135)

3 Signs You’re Doing Just Fine

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
— Mahatma Gandhi

In a world of comparisons, it is easy to feel like you don’t measure up. Everyone else always seems better, faster, smarter, stronger, more talented, or more liked. But if you really look at it, that isn’t so.

Here are 3 signs you’re doing just fine:

1. You help people. True success is all about what you do for others. If you are helping others, keep others lifted, being an encourager, and celebrating when they succeed, you are doing just fine in life. The greatest feeling any of us can have is to be able to help another person bloom into who they were meant to be. Success is always twice as good for the person who aims to help others.

2. You serve people. The term “servant leader” is an oxymoron. While many people fight to be leaders, very few strive to be servants. The world needs more servants — people who are willing to support others and do things for other people whether or not one gets anything in return. If you are a willing, humble servant, you will always be doing just fine. People will love you not because of what you can do for them but because of who you are.

3. You embrace the power of choice. Much of life is made up of a series of choices. You don’t have to learn how to live life perfectly. But you do need to know when and how to make a good decision. Choice has the power to send your life in one of two directions. You’re doing just fine when you realize your life is not the result of chance, but of deliberate effort to choose how you want to live and what you want to do with your time, talent, and energy, and resources.

“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.”
— Rabindranath Tagore
