Progress to Maturity (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 134)
Hebrews 6:1a (NLT)
So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding.
Growing is a normal process of life. Not just of our physical lives, but also of our spiritual lives. We grow from babies to teenagers to adults. Likewise, as believers, we start as babies in the faith and go through a maturation process as we grow in our relationship with God.
The maturation process can be painful at times. Physical growth is often painful. But it pushes us to become who we were created to be. Our relationship with Jesus is even more crucial than our physical wellbeing. Growth takes time. We don’t get to full-blown spiritual maturity all in one day.
Whether you are a new believer or been knowing Christ for a long time, be happy that you are making progress in your spiritual journey. Embrace the process of growth. Be thankful for the maturation that a relationship with God involves. It is easy to stay as we are when we get comfortable in that position. But God wants us to move forward through each phase of maturity to develop and become more like Him.
“Grow, dear friends, but grow, I beseech you, in God’s way, which is the only true way.”
