Tuned Out (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 132)
John 8:47 (NLT)
Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.
What we hear has a significant impact upon our minds. What goes into our minds eventually turns up in our lives. What we do in our lives shows who we are and what we value. It is easier to accept whatever we hear without question and to always be tuned in to our environment.
God wants to get a hold of our ears just as much as He wants to live in our hearts. It’s impossible to be tuned in to two things at the same time on the same device. If that’s the case, we end up missing something that we need to hear and hearing something that’s not beneficial.
It’s our nature to be tuned in to something. God wants us to be tuned in to Him. An ear that is open to the voice of God will be able to withstand any trouble and overcome any obstacle. God takes time to speak to those who make time to listen. Show God that you appreciate His goodness by tuning out the many voices that vie for your attention and listening to Him. He will never lead you wrong.
“Sit in the companionship of God—the one who shows up and can be seen.”
