Powerless (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 129)
Isaiah 40:29-30 (NLT)
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
At some point in our lives, we would like to believe that we are powerful. Some of us even pursue power on a regular basis. On our jobs, at our homes, in matter of finances and education, we want to be in control. Powerlessness doesn’t create a long line of people waiting to obtain. The desire to be in control, while seemingly attractive, can lead to disastrous consequences.
The truth is, however, that we cannot control everything. Some things in life are simply beyond our ability. Energy, time, and knowledge do not permit us to be in control. Eventually, we will run out of time, grow exhausted and weary, and not understand many of the things we face.
God, however, never runs out of time. He is all-powerful and full of strength. He knows all things because He is the source of all things. Nothing bothers Him or surprises Him. His strength is perfect and we can rely on Him fully to guide us in the right path. When we trust Him, He promises to give us strength to accomplish His plan and purpose for our lives. When we are not in control, we can trust that He is.
“God’s strength in your weakness is His presence in your life.”
