Trust and Follow (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 126)

Trust and Follow

Proverbs 3:5 (NLT)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

In this verse, God is telling us to trust Him with everything we have in everything we do. How easy it is to trust, but how little so many of us do it? The two things God wants more than anything is for us to trust Him with everything and follow Him in everything.

How quick we are however, to trust people who could possible let us down and not trust God who never fails. How do we know we can trust God? Well, we really don’t. We can’t see or feel God. We know that he exists and that His words are true but there is nothing tangible upon which to hang on to. Trust is all about faith.

Wherever we place our faith is where our minds, hearts, and souls will follow. The truth is, our understanding and view of life is skewed. Living by a skewed view will cause us to trip up and make mistakes. God provides an alternative to living a skewed life. He opens up the lines of trust. If we believe in God, we trust Him. We can put our faith in Him to guide us in the right way — the path He has already uniquely designed for us to follow.

Trust can be hard because we don’t know what the outcome is or what will happen next. We often learn to trust in the darkest moments of our lives, when we’re slowly treading through valleys, and wondering why we have to fight such heartbreaking battles in life. But if we trust God with all our hearts, release our wills and agendas to Him, He has promised to lead us into paths of amazing blessing, provision, and satisfaction.

“We don’t have to be afraid of stepping out. We don’t have to be afraid of failing. We only have to be afraid of not trusting God.”
