It’s All About Growing (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 109)

It’s All About Growing

2 Peter 3:18 (NLT)
Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

Life is all about growing. And God made us to grow. He doesn’t want us to stay babies in our faith. He cares more about our spiritual growth than anything else. All throughout nature and humanity, we see signs of growth. Tiny seeds grow into big oak trees. Little children grow into adults. Every stage of life is an opportunity to grow, to give love, to develop character, to fulfill purpose, and to depend on God.
Growth is never quick. It is always slow and steady. Growth is not always visible to the naked eye either. But underneath all the dirt, water, and sunshine, is a tiny seed that inching its way forward every single day. God wants us to grow in grace and knowledge through Jesus Christ. Knowing Christ helps conform us to Him and forms a foundation for us to live by and receive His grace.

To grow in grace and knowledge, we must be committed to obeying God, trusting God, being faithful to God, and allowing Him to mold us and make us into the people He has created us to be. God made you to do something absolutely awesome with your life. He gave you all you need to grow and to do more with your life.

The more grace grows in us, the more steadfast we will grow in truth and wisdom. Making it our business to know the Lord and abide in His will and plan for us will ensure that we fulfill the purposes He has for us. Growing in grace and knowledge is to be more like Christ, to love Him better, to serve Him more, and to receive the desired power and strength from above.

“Few souls understand what God would accomplish in them if they were to abandon themselves unreservedly to Him and if they were to allow His grace to mold them accordingly.”
— St. Ignatius Loyola
