But Take Heart (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 91)

But Take Heart

John 16:33 (NLT)
Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Throughout the world today, there are many people who live in fear. They feel guilty about the past, worried about the present, and are afraid of the future. This spirit of fear keeps them bound and acts as a deterrent and excuse for them to not live the life God has designed for them.

But Jesus didn’t come so we could live in fear. His death on the cross and subsequent victory over death gives us freedom to live in faith. He is the answer when fear knocks at the door of our hearts. We don’t have to let fear overtake us when Jesus gives us grace, joy, peace, hope, and everlasting life.

When Jesus makes the difference, anxiety has no room to grow. You have the strength to face any obstacle because you’re God’s child. The enemy has no power over you and cannot hold you back or hold you up because Jesus has given you power to overcome any situation you face. It is not enough just to trust Jesus for eternal life, you’ve got to believe He can make the difference.

Jesus promises that the world will be filled with trouble and we will have our share of trials and sorrows. But that shouldn’t scare us into a corner. We should embrace that fact. We should take it to heart because it isn’t the end of the world. Nothing stops there. In Christ, you have the power to overcome because He has already overcome everything you and I will ever face on the cross.

Choose today to push fear out of your life. Stop letting it steal your joy and peace. Trust Jesus fully and completely to make the difference in your life. We can’t do anything without Christ nor can we face anything without His presence. But the past is whole, the present is joyful, and the future is bright for those who overcome through Christ.

“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it.”
