People Made Brand New (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 77)

People Made Brand New

Revelation 21:5a (NLT)
And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!”

Parents often tell their children they can be anything they want to be. Teachers strive to help their students become like some great individuals in history. We kind of know what is being implied when someone says this. But it really isn’t all that true. You possibly could be president of the United States, but without the skills and guts, do you think you would make a good one?

You cannot be anything or everything you want to be. But you can be everything God uniquely created you to be. Within each person are all the tools and talent you need to emerge fully into who God wants you to be. Sometimes, many people spend valuable time and waste a lot of energy trying to be like someone else. They never reach their goal because no two people can be exactly alike or do the same things exactly the same way.

God has set this world up for each and every person to play a unique and significant role in it. What would the world be like if we all were fishermen or we all were lawyers or we all were grocery story clerks. Millions of things would not get done. God likes variety and that is why He created all people everywhere in the world brand new. He didn’t copy off of the person before you. He didn’t build a prototype and attach different names to it. He made you!

It is comforting to know that God chose you just as you are with your features and your skill set to do something great in this world. He purposely and deliberately chose you. You didn’t have to do anything to be chosen; He just did it. You are responsible for living out the life God gave you to live. The only standards before you are God’s standards and the only approval you need comes from God. Outside of God, we can do nothing; inside of God, we can do anything He has given us to do.

“Every time you look in the mirror, remember that God created you and everything he creates is beautiful and good.”
