Three Certainties (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 71)

Three Certainties

1 John 4:4 (NLT)
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

There are few things we can be certain of in this world. We can’t be sure we’ll be alive to see tomorrow or that our loved ones will make it to the new year. We can be definite that accidents won’t happen or massive storm systems will come our way. Certainty of anything tangible is not a promise in the world or in life.

However, we can be absolutely sure of three things. First, we can be sure that we are God’s children and God is our Father. It is comforting to know that God surrounds us, watches over us, and lives within us. If you have never felt like you belong to anybody, you can be certain that you belong to God. And God delights to calls you His child.

Second, we can be certain that victory is ours in this life and in the life to come. For believers, there is nothing and no one to fear. We don’t even have to be afraid of our chief enemy — the devil. He has already been defeated. He does not want you and I to experience victory in this life. But victory is ours because God is victorious and we are His children. Victory is the life blood of the Christian.

Third, we can be sure that the Spirit living within us is greater than any force or spirit in the world. When you pray, you pray from a standpoint of strength. When you wake up each morning, you do not have to dread the day because you are victorious. God within you is more powerful than any outside force you will face. You don’t have to live in fear, worry, doubt or unbelief. God has all power in His hands and because you are God’s child, you have can overcome any obstacle, climb any mountain, and defeat and foe.

“God never ends anything on a negative; God always ends on a positive.”
